FAQs

I just found out I’m pregnant! When should I book my newborn shoot?

Congratulations!! Most parents choose to book during the second trimester, but anytime in the second or third trimester is recommended. I take on a limited amount of newborns every month so that I can accommodate late or early births, so reaching out early will give you the best chances of fitting into my calendar. However, it’s never too late to ask as I will always try to squeeze in last minute bookings if possible, but I cannot always guarantee last-minute availability if you wait until baby is born!

Do you have a studio?

I do! My full service studio is located in Kitchener and has everything we'll need for your baby's newborn session including outfits, wraps, props, set ups, flower crowns, and more! All you need to provide is your new baby.

How long do your newborn sessions generally take?

The Petite package is around 1-2 hours long and the Deluxe package generally ranges from 2.5 - 4 hours long and includes as many feeding and snuggling breaks as baby needs!

What is the best age to photograph my new baby?

Ideally, I like to schedule newborns when they are around 1-3 weeks old. This is when they are still super sleepy and squishy and before their baby acne and things set in. However, I will never turn away your baby for being "too old" and I have successfully done newborn sessions up to 2-3 months.

When should I message you to book my newborn session?

When you book with me, your due date will be booked into my calendar. The actual date of your session will be solidified AFTER your new babe arrives. Sessions are booked weekday mornings (or weekend mornings for an added fee). Due to the small window of time after the baby is born, I ask that you include me in your list of people to notify once the baby is born so that I can schedule you in as soon as possible!

How do you accommodate newborns who are born early or late?

I take on a limited amount of newborns every month so that I can accommodate late or early births. Your deposit guarantees that I will be able to fit you in during those first few weeks.

I’m having twins/triplets/etc.! Is there an extra charge for the additional babies?

Nope! My multiple packages are the same as my solo newborn packages. I figure you’re about to spend double/triple/quadruple on everything, so I’ll give you a break on this one!

What type of training do you have?

I am CPR-C certified and have taken extensive training on newborn safety and posing. I was also a nanny for many years before becoming a photographer and have lots of experience with little ones!

I will never compromise your baby’s safety, and their comfort will always be prioritized over achieving every single pose. Babies are posed, but NEVER forced into positions.

I want a themed newborn shoot (princesses, animals, movies, etc). Do you do this or can I add my own props/costumes?

I do not offer themed shoots. My sessions include a variety of neutral tones and natural elements so that the focus is on baby. If you’re looking for themed shoots you’ll be much happier if you find a photographer who fits that style!

What are your Covid-19 policies?

I am doing everything I can to ensure these new babies stay as safe as possible. I have always washed and sanitized everything between sessions and that will continue. I also wear freshly laundered clothing and will have a mask on for the entire duration of the shoot. My cancellation policy is also very flexible when it comes to illness. If you are sick in any way leading up to your session you may reschedule without losing your deposit.
